Danu Danes Placement Policies
While we do not have puppies available at this time, it is in both our interest to start contact and build a relationship now.
We only place puppies in homes that I have had adequate time to do back ground checks and get to know.
I extensively screen prospective buyers completing a home check and checking 2 references. We reserve the right to refuse a puppy to any home we feel not suitable.
Deposits are requested for a puppy after the time the litter is born.
Danu Great Danes sends all show/pet puppies to their new homes registered. Their registered names will be selected by Danu Great Danes and can not be changed. We make every attempt to work with new owners (within our set naming convention) who are on our waiting list prior to birth when naming the puppies.
Puppies are handled constantly from birth utilizing the "Super Puppy" program beginning at 3 days old. Our puppies are raised in our home surrounded by other pets and children. Puppies have regular changes in schedule and exposure to varied sights, sounds, surfaces and stimulations. Socialization does not end at our home. We suggest puppy kindergarten classes and intermediate/advanced classes.
We minimally vaccinate our puppies and require the same of their new home. We utilize titer testing rather than administering unnecessary vaccinations.
Companion puppies stay until 10 weeks, we reserve the right to hold show prospects until 4 months if necessary to make our pick.
Companion puppies are placed on an adult spay/neuter agreement. AKC Limited registration is granted only upon proof of spay/neuter.
All show prospects are co-owned unless placed in proven show homes.
We do NOT ship Companion puppies.
Companion puppies will not be cropped NO EXCEPTIONS.
Puppy cost and cropping fee is to be PAID IN FULL prior to cropping (show prospects only).
